Horst
“Horst originated in 2014 on the site of the Horst Castle in Holsbeek. Over the years, it grew into an internationally renowned platform for cutting-edge electronic music and inventive in-situ art and architecture. Horst aligns a three-day immersive music festival with longer-term trajectories in which architects are invited to create unique stages and dance floors, and in which contemporary artists are commissioned to enter into dialogue with their surroundings through site-specific new productions.”
Growing up around Leuven I attended one of the first editions of Horst and it was love at first sight. I was more than honored to photograph the infamous three-day music and arts festival for the first time in 2021. Throughout the years they occasionally asked me to come back to capture the festival, the ongoing summer exhibition and some of the other aspects their new location in Vilvoorde holds. A selection of some work i did for them over the years can be found below.
